As an important component of the security defense, the monitor system plays avital role. This paper aims to research the design and implement of some functions inthe digital monitor system which accords with the current developing trend.First of all, this paper illuminates the research background and significance of theproject, and summarizes the advantages of the digital monitor system. It's pointed outthat the analog monitor system will be replaced by the digital one.In the next place, some techniques in the digital monitor system, including imagedata compression,the methods and criteria of digital coding and audio coding, areintroduced in this paper.In additon, the paper briefly analogizes the system structure of embedded digitalmonitor system and module partition, and summarizes each module's function.Finally, the thesis puts its emphasis on the design and development of automaticdetection module in the digital monitor system. Some key problems, such as thecommunication between the module and the server, the interface of LCD, the securityof the module, the storage and management of secret key in this digital monitorsystem, are illustrated in detail. In addition through analyzing the end-to-endmeasurement method for link bandwidth the paper find a measurement method forbottleneck link speed from client to server according to this digital monitor system.The digital monitor system with Client/Server framework could be used in theremote monitor and has the extensive application foreground.
