In the process of high speed wire-rolling mill, micro-tension and automatic loop control are usually used, to assure the precision of wire sectional size, and to increase the productivity and the wire quality. Automatic control system of high speed wire-rolling mill is the important constituted part of high speed wire product. If the loop control system works not steady, can make the loop number wavy, wire-rod be snapped, size be abnormal, wire-rod be cumulated and so on. By using some advanced technology, the level of whole production process monitor, operation, automatic control were advanced, that would increase the production efficiency and the quality of product。In connection with a high speed wire-rolling mill plant, this paper studies the loop automatic control. On the basis of the theory of loop control system, several studies have been made:1. The meaning and application actuality of condition monitoring was analyzed. Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis , involved many theories and technical methods,is a comprehensive edge subject, which has been developed in recent years. Along with the development of sciences, technologies and economic, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of large-scale equipments and their control systems have become an essential technology and important method to guarantee equipments or system to work stably, reliably and safely, to improve the product quality and the production efficiency. Now condition monitoring is attached importance widely by many domestic and foreign scholars day by day. 2. The theory and method of the performance monitoring was introduced. Based on the actuality of the performance monitoring, introduces the basic theory and algorithm about wavelet transform from engineering application view. The essential difference among Fourier Transform (FT), Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and Wavelet Transform (WT) is analyzed deeply.3. Using the SPC theory we analyzed the data of produce locale. The normal data and fault data was compared and analyzed, which we based on and appraised the produce process.4. We applied time-frequency analysis to condition monitoring of loop control system. The data of the typical faults which collected from loop control system is analyzed using four methods, that is, Fourier Transform, Frequency Spectrum Transform, Short-Time Fourier Transform and Wavelet Transform Analysis. Result shows wavelet theory has obvious advantages in mechanical monitoring and diagnosis.5. Finally, the frequently fault and stability of loop control system was also analyzed deeply.
