With the rapid development of information technology, online video, technical forums, social platforms, online games and other network applications emerge, making the network plays an increasingly important role in our daily life. These colorful network applications put forward higher requirements of the network service quality, and network performance index is an important basis for comprehensive evaluation of the quality of service of network. Among them, the available bandwidth and path delay are the most important and popular network performance indexes. Among the available bandwidth measurement systems, Abget system has relatively good prospects, which is based on single terminal TCP/IP protocols. However, there still exists some defects to be improved in Abget system, such as slow convergence speed, high overhead, and low accuracy. This paper studies these defects of Abget system, analyzes the reasons from algorithms and theoretical level, and put forward some improvements. At the same time, the improved system also adds the path detection module, to get more network performance indexes.This paper studies the following aspects:First, this paper studies related technologies of the available bandwidth measurement system Abget. Related technologies of available bandwidth measurement and path detection have been studied, which provide the theoretical basis for the function and performance improvements of the available bandwidth measurement system.Second, this paper improves available bandwidth measurement algorithm by improving iterative algorithm in testing process. In this paper,"network delay variation rate" and "relative volatility of one-way delay" parameter are introduced, eliminating the additional time overhead of testing process due to the network jitter. This paper also effectively improves the accuracy of measurement results, shortens the test time, and improves the test efficiency.Third, this paper extends functions of the available bandwidth measurement system, which introduces a new module of network path detection and the bottleneck delay measurement, and uses a fixed delay ratio timely monitoring congestion path, and ensures that bottleneck delay and delay bottleneck location are measured in the best time.Fourth, this paper deploys the improved available bandwidth measurement system in the cloud platform. Based on the cloud platform the testing processes are completed. Comparing experiments compare differences in function and performance between the improved Abget system and Abget. Experiments show that the performance of the available bandwidth measurement is greatly improved, and the measurement accuracy is also improved. At the same time, the experimental data reveals that the available bandwidth and latency bottlenecks show a reverse change relation.
