With the fast development of modern informationtechnology,the information that will be processed increaseimmensely.The researchs and applications of imageprocessing,above all the realtime image processing is veryimportant for people all over the world.In recent years,thedevelopment of DSP technology has put the achievement ofdigital signal processing in theory into practicalapplication systems, and then new theory and application havemade great progress.therefore,the image processing technologyhas played a great role in the field of industry and agriculturein the world.So the DSP-based image processing system has madegreat progress in practice.First,not only the background of the research problemand the use state of image processing technology throught theworld but also the frame,characteristic and model oftraditional special and universal image processing system arediscussed in the dissertation. After analyzing the charactersof DSPs chip and DSP system, at the same time describing theconfiguration of TMS320VC5509 in detail,the dissertationintroduces a universal image processing system based on theTMS320VC5509 of Ti company.This system can vary from thetraditional image processing system based on PC mode incharacter ,improve its performance in the field of realtimethan ever and reduce the cost of the system in most possibile.The system designed in the dissertation is a facilityand portable image processing system,which can process thedigital signal of various images.So I save the process thesignal being sampled, quantified and coded in the system. Thedigital data will be written into the FIFO under the logiccontrol of CPLD and be sent into the DSP to be processed atthe end.
