Ms Analysis Services Olap Systems-based Approach Extended The Preliminary Study

The front tool of data warehouse, OLAP, is an advanced DSS tool, which is developing rapidly during the recent decades. With OLAP, users can make deep investigation of business data, find the business tendency and abnormality, get important details and make better understanding of rules of their business behaviors.With the increased requirement for data analysis in companies, OLAP can't perfectly meet their requirement. For example, the interface of OLAP application in conflict with users' custom, or the fact that the requirement for correlation analyzing on the slice from the OLAP system. For this situation, the OLAP research group of Shanghai Maritime University proposed a new OLAP model: Multi-Dimensional Online Data Analysis Model, which can connect to various kinds of Databases. More than that, MOLDA model can meet the custom of usage in China and can be extended with new analysis methods and Arithmetic. MOLDA has three parts: Business Space, Data Source and Analysis Library. But because the Analysis Library part of MOLDA model is very complex. I decided to take this part out as a research task and combine the thoughts in Analysis Library of MOLDA model with a matured OLAP product-MS Analysis Services. I develop a OLAP method extension system named Easy Analysis. I simply take this job as the implementation research on Analysis Library of MOLDA model.This dissertation introduces some background knowledge such as OLAP Data Warehouse and Method Base. It focuses on statistical method extension to OLAP system. You can see detailed presentation on method extension to MS Analysis Services and the design of Easy Analysis. In the last part of this dissertation, you can see the Easy Analysis function description and key techniques to implementation that system.Easy Analysis not only builds a solid base on the research of Analysis Library of MOLDA model, but also has practical application in companies who have SQL server Databases.
