Providing BI Plan For Small Corporations--Developing OLAP Exhibition Tool In Client/Server Based On Analysis Services

In present, Business intelligent is well known as a method solved various problems in business affairs. However, BI's realization means opportunity and challenge both exist for Chinese corporations and economy. An important problem now confront market is how to extract useful information from huge amount of data, which is helpful for a rising market share and profit. For corporation possessing of huge potential energy, finding latent and useful relation from those information, which can be used for market analyzing, sales analyzing and credit analyzing. So, thus realizable BI is desiderated be solved. Now, though many foreign database manufacturers all provide some scheme to realize BI through establishing data warehouse in corporation, which are still too expensive and dangerous for some small corporations if they will invest to.Allowing for the circumstances, the author tried to put forward a practical BI plan for small corporations. At first, enterprise can establish data center but not data warehouse using resources now possessed, for example, MS SQL Server Analysis Services, not only its performance is very good also on a low side. Secondly, developing OLAP exhibition tool based Analysis Services for is more practicable than buying. So the author is about to do these tow tasks.This article included seven sections and author emphasis on four aspects about the BI plan as mentioned above. The first one gave a particular introduction of BI's concept and what are data warehouse and OLAP besides why the author would like to do these tasks and what its means. In the second aspect, based on the deep study about Analysis Services, author put forward an effective scheme of establishing data center in Analysis Services. In the thirdone, emphasized on OLAP exhibition Tool's developing process, introduced some technology and central components.
