Industrial Ethernet is the hottest topic in the international FieldBus research field, all kinds of FieldBus organizations also put lots of investment into Industrial Ethernet research. But, Ethernet, as a network protocol coming from office, is facing a challenge to overcome many problems. Meantime, more and more embedded systems are applying to the industrial field; the embedded operation systems are capable of network, also push the Ethernet into applications widely.This paper was focused on settling the problems, which are encountered in the industrial applications of the Ethernet, such as bandwidth, real-time ability, stability etc. An advanced network structure is brought forward referrenced by up to date technology. The designed ethernet controller is entered into network by ethemet switcher as a intelligent control node.The ethemet controller's hardware has abundant interface resource: one ethernet interface, one USB interface, two RS232 ports; memory units have 4MB FLASH, 16MB SDRAM, satisfied the applications of embedded system; data acess unit was composed of a A/D converter and a D/A converter, which are both 16 bits, they are used to acess the data and output the control signals to process field.The embedded uCLinux system was used. The uCLinux had powerful network capability. In this uCLinux system, device drivers, applications and the program about network communications were developed, and then the system was debugged. The whole system is a good model to use the Ethernet and uCLinux in the industrial fields.
