Extensible On-Line Data Analysis System (XOLDAS), presented in this dissertation, is a general-purpose OLAP platform. XOLDAS is built on the Multi-dimensional On-Line Data Analysis (MOLDA) model, which is designed based on the result of the investigation in domestic enterprises, and their actual requirements for data analysis. Therefore, it has good application prospect. On this platform, users can conveniently customize their specific OLAP systems to solve particular problems for their own business field.This dissertation introduces the Data Warehouse and OLAP techniques, which relate to XOLDAS. It brings forward the focus of this article after a survey of OLAP's recent research results and directions. Following the general introduction of the MOLDA model and XOLDAS, the dissertation then describes the characteristics, constitutes, concepts and functions of XOLDAS. The system development platform of XOLDAS is also selected.XOLDAS consists of three main parts - Data Source, Business Scope and Methods Library. The dissertation specifies each part's design and implementation solution. Data Source describes business databases or data warehouses and is used to connect to source databases to get data from them. Business Scope indicates all the possible analysis requirements users may have and enables users to express their analysis request in business terminology from the business point of view. Methods Library stores the statistical methods which used in data analysis process and is easy to expand. Not only simple information, such as data summary and statistics, but also the inner relationship between data can be obtained from analysis results got by using these methods. Accordingly, the development trend can be learnt, which improve the decision effectiveness.The dissertation research on the architecture of XOLDAS. After designing XOLDAS's multi-layer architecture, it discusses each layer's operation theory, function, and implementation technologies.
