From 1970's, DSS(Decision Support System) has developed on the basis of MIS( Management Information System). The DSS is based on large volume of data. How to get valuable information from these mess data has become a necessary demand. A data warehouse provides the base for the powerful data analysis techniques that are available today such as data mining, multidimensional analysis, the traditional query and reporting. Making use of these techniques along with data warehouse can result in easier access to information you need for more decision. How to build a data warehouse is what we focused on. Database technology provides good methods of data share, data independence and security. When these techniques used for data warehouse, the restillar some shortcomings. How the data is to be structured is one of the most key concepts in data warehouse, it is different from the more typical operational database and decision support application building. So we structure the data and build applications around it rather than structuring applications and bringing data to them. This new approach to data modeling is dimensional data modeling, such as star model and snowflake model.Data warehouse modeling is the process that produces abstract data models, which is comprised of all tasks related to requirements gathering, analysis, validation and modeling. In this paper, we discuss how to design and implement a data warehouse modeling system. It presents details of data warehouse modeling processes and techniques. The keystone of DW is OLAP, which is base on the dimensional modeling technique. This paper takes efforts to study the dimensional modeling technique. After discussing the base rules and methods of dimensional modeling, this paper designed and implemented a few OLAP analysis models to meet the needs of the enterprise. These models didn' t intend to satisfy all the needs of the enterprise, but they do meet some of the demands, what's more, they can be good references for further work. This article discusses the advantages of Decision Support System...
