OLAP is data analysts technique based on multidimensional data model, by which data analyst can have fast, consistent, and interactive access to the data and get all kinds of multidimensional view of information. Hence, the inner relationship between data and the rules hidden behind them can be found out and then decision-makers can be provided with much stronger decision supports. After its being put forward, OLAP has got a rapid development outside China, and dozens of multidimensional analysis products based on OLAP are available on the market presently. While the applying of OLAP in domestic enterprises is still on low level, and no powerful local OLAP system has been developed.Extensible On Line Data Analysis System (XOLDAS) presented in this dissertation is a general OLAP platform, designed accroding to Multi-dimensional On Line Data Analysis (MOLDA) model which is built on base of the result of investigation in domestic government sectors and enterprises and designed according to their actual requirements for data analysis. On this platform, user can design specific OLAP systems to solve problems they concerned in any specific business field. The system consists of three main parts - Data Source, Business Space and Analysis Library. Data Source describes business database and is used to connect to database and get data from it. Business Space expresses all the possible analysis requirements users may have and let users to devote all their attentions to the business problems while analyzing. Many statistical methods which are stored in Analysis Library are imported and applied to data analysis process. Not only simple information, such as data counting and summary, but also the inner relationship between data can be obtained from analysis results got by using these methods. Accordingly, the development trend can be learnt, which improve the scientificalness of decision. This dissertation consists of seven chapters. Chapter I is introduction. OLAP and MOLDA are introduced in Chapter II. In Chapter III, XOLDAS and concepts, design and implementation techniques of its three parts are presented in detail. Chapter IV is functions design, including functions provided to system users and general users. Chapter V presents XOLDAS objects model modeling with UML andsystem database schema. In Chapter VI, a XOLDAS prototype and an instance of its application are introduced. Chapter VII is conclusion and system perspectives. An Yawei (Computer Science) Directed by Shen Kangchen...
