The basic requirement for constructing virtual lab is that the remote virtual experiment must be based upon network. The supporting network environment must be based upon Internet, too. Internet based on IP protocol offers best-effort transmitting and non-connected mechanism. Thus, there are many problems for virtual lab connecting to Internet, such as supplying guaranteed QoS. The transmission for reliable real time flow of control, video flow, audio flow and frequently remote-alternated data flow are demanded for the virtual experiment If these problems can't be resolved, the virtual lab will be grievously retarded and the virtual experiment won't be normally experimentalized. So it is meaning at large for studying and settling the network-supporting environment for virtual lab.First of all, this paper researches the method of network performance analysis and estimation. Then, this paper discusses the new technology of MPLS and emphatically analyses and simulates the characteristics of MPLS, such as the characteristics of flow aggregation , evident routing, constraint routing and diffrential service. In succession, the problem of virtual lab network supporting enviromeat about high requirement for transmitting data at delay and reliability is discussed. Based on the analysis and experiment result of characteristics of MPLS, an effective precept can be applied at virtual lab for the existent limitations in DP. At last, under considering entirely the network working in gear or unusually, the characteristics of MPLS applied to remote virtual lab are analyzed and compared with traditional IP. The theory ananlysis and experiments results indicate that MPLS can provide guaranteeings of real time and credibility for the pivotal control flows of the virtual lab and is fit the remote virtual experiment.
