Application Of Mpls/vpn Technology In Dcn Network

In recent years, as marketization of telecommunication industry in our country becomes more significant, competition among telecommunication operators becomes more serious, therefore, the types of the services provided by telecommunication operators are gradually diversed. DCN(Data Communication Network), which is the internal data communication network of the operator, is responsible for network management system, accounting platform, value-added platform, office automation, internal website and the like for various services. With the occurrence of various services, there is a strict need on controllability, flexibility, security of DCN network, the DCN network which is dependent on traditional IP technology architecture can not meet requirements. We immediately need a new technical means, which can reform the network, so that it can satisfy the increasing service requirements.By analyzing the current status of DCN network in Henan Netcom, the thesis discusses the application of MPLS/VPN technology in the process of reforming the DCN network step by step. MPLS is the abbreviation of Multiprotocol Label Switching technology, and is a new network technology which directs high speed data transmission and switching by using fixed-length label on open communication network. MPLS is independent of the link layer and the physical layer, and can ensure the interconnection and interworking of various networks, and allows a variety of different network data transmission technology to exist on the same MPLS platform. The main advantages of MPLS are as follows: reducing network complexity, being compatible with various existed popular network technologies, reducing the cost of networking greatly; ensuring QOS and security while providing users with IP service. MPLS not only supports traffic engineering, but also supports the implementation of VPN, further, the VPN constructed by MPLS technology is a new type service which is developed by all large telecommunication operators over the world.The thesis has performed deep study in terms of characteristics in MPLS/VPN technology, such as Virtual Private Network,QOS guarantee, networking across domain, and proposes a best scheme for organizing the DCN network of Henan Netcom, and also analyses the applications of the MPLS/VPN technology in every step of the process of reforming the network. The scheme now has been operated in the existed network, and after testing, it shows that: introducing MPLS/VPN technology in DCN network can meet actual service requirements, the network runs reliably and steadily, the secure isolation of various services can be achieved effectively, high engineering application value is obtained.
