Research On MPLS VPN And Its Application In Guizhou Electric Power

Multiprotocol label switching is a new IP technology, which contains the advantages of the layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing. It derives from ATM but is more dedicated to IP. Nowadays, many researches focus on it and the specifications are being formulated.Virtual Private Network is a value-added service of IP. It is usually implemented by using IP tunnels. In MPLS, LSP is used to provide those tunnels. Since Constraint-Based LSP could be established to provide QoS services, VPN in MPLS could achieve the advantages provided by MPLS.This thesis describes the MPLS basics in chapter two, and expatiates on the architecture of VPN in chapter four. To form this architecture of VPN, BGP protocol is used, which is thoroughly discussed in chapter three and chapter four, along with is new extensions. In chapter fiver, constraint-based LSPs are implemented in MPLS Diff-Serv. And it is used to provide VPN backbone network services that are aware of QoS.
