Web-based Cscw System - The Design And Realization Of The Collaborative Research Platform

CSCW is a new research realm with multi-knowledge crossed and supported. It results from the combination of latest information techniques and human collaboration of traditional society and can apply in industry, military, medical treatment, education, scientific research,etc. CSCW will enhance the efficiency of work, boost the development of productivity.The development of WWW technique and high speed network gives CSCW the opportunity to apply, by regarding WWW as a kind of basic technique of CSCW, Web based CSCW has suffers more attention. The web based CSCW systems not only avoid the differences of the coordinator's location by taking advantage of the technology, but also have the advantages of simple, platform-independent, low cost,etc. But they are lack of security, efficiency and credibility in some extent.When scientific researching, because of the growing complexity and mulity-subject crossing, the distributed scientists need a "no-wall" environment which supports cooperative work. But the all of the known systems have shortages in supporting it. This paper gives corresponded design and implementation of a Web based CSCW system-platform for scientific research. The system supports CSCR on the Web and the distributed collaborators can take activities such as share of electronic information, project development, calendar and schedule,communication for collaboration and cooperative writing.The CBSD is adopted in the process of development of the system and it results in less developing time, less cost of development, more flexibility and maintainability and easy upgrade.
