In our daily life, water, electricity and gas is necessary support .To the manufacture companies who supply water, electricity and gas, monthly reading meter is a hard work and spends lots of money and manpower. Lots of companies are researching Automatic Reading Meter System with the telephone cable or ISDN to communicate with upper computer, it is an expensive way. According to this kind of condition, the writer has designed a kind of long distance wireless Automatic Reading Meter System(ARMS).By ARMS, the companies(suppliers of water, electricity and gas) can transmit the amount data recorded by the meter installed in the house of user to company office by long-distance-measurement computer system. This way can take place of manly reading meter and other auxiliary work. The wireless communication way of this system i.e. GSM short message service is the first step to family automation and can improve the modernization level of water-electricity system management. The system possesses two advantages: a) abundant collecting point can make us get a large mount of data; b) The system is a widely communication network with lots of scattered collecting point at the same time. The system should possess the advantage of low cost, correct&timely collected data, good environment compatibility and good anti-disturbance ability.By the development and combination of modern communication and computer technology: the ARMS can be achieved. ARMS can avoid the disadvantage and embarrassment of disturbing user. It is very convenient for both company and user to face a wide market.
