The workflow technology provides means to analyze, build and run business processes, It divides the business process into task steps and roles who execute the task steps respectively under predefined rules and routes. It has become the basis for enterprise business process management, process automation, and process reforming, WFMS (workfow Management System) is a running system which supports workflow technology,The thesis comes from a project: Automation Office system for Drilling And Production Technology Institute (DAPTI) of Liaohe oilfield, which adopts the technology to design and implement the system. The system also defines the information layer, application layer and expression layer for three-layer architecture application. In the system Lotus Domino 5.08 acts as Workflow engine in the system, Lotus Domino Administrator acts as management client, Lotus Designer acts as a tool for form and view designing, Wiseflow processing builder acts as a tool to define processes, IE acts as client for common users.The thesis selects Active network chart to build the process model under which document receipt management, document distribution management and product planning management process models have been built up; The organization model bases on the conceptions of role, member and department under which the organization models of DAPTI and its six branches have been built up.Author, reader, workflow status fields and workflow-tracing table are the main data structures for workflow application which are used to mark and trigger workflow. The project management is an example to explain how to use sharing document and email to implement recyclable workflow application. Private and public views are used to implement task monitoring.The Wisefiow processing builder is independent on the workflow engine, which improves the expandability for the system.The thesis finishes the designing and implementation for DAPTI OA system under former analysis, designing and algorithm successfully, using the Lotus Domino and B/S model, which is based on the workflow technology. It manages forty-two key processes for the institute, and provides means to define, run and monitor every process. The system follows WFMC, provides expandability. The independent process definition tool, Web structure and role-base organization model make it an advanced application system.
