With the development of computer science, the traditional official systems have showed low effectiveness and great waste of resources. Office Automation can help achieve the technological cooperation of each department and company, which also can gather and handle the information conveniently and fast, even communicate and share it to reach a scientific decision. Achieving Office Automation has become the chief goal of most companies and government departments.Workflow is management process which can execute the task automatically or partly. Word, information and task can transmit and implement in different executors through a series of procedures. Workflow technology mainly have two types in the practical application to enterprises.The first type is the application in Office Automation System about official document transmission;The other type is Management Workflow System which can provide operation support platform for business. However, different applications require different Workflow Engine.Set in Office Automation System of Nanjing shikoku technology Co. LTD, this thesis will introduce current developing situation and direction and Workflow Technology in Office Automation System briefly. This paper also will discuss how to introduce the Workflow Technology in Design and develop solutions of Office Automation System in small and medium-sized enterprises to enrich the system function and improve the Office efficiency. With the change of the business demand, the requirement of Process Management and Limited resource management is much higher than before. The main propose of this thesis is to improve the function of Process Management and resource management further in order to meet the requirement of enterprises.This thesis will put forward Office Automation System Pattern based in Workflow for small and medium-sized enterprises through demand analysis according to reference model of Workflow Management System suggested by Workflow Management Coalition. It also apply methods of software development based in workflow in the process of design and achievement.The key point is the Workflow design in the whole process.According to the design and procedures of Workflow, it can abstract the Workflow process, then design and achieve an easy Workflow Engine which can have special business rules and can effectively fuse the relationship structure of processing information and business data. In the flow of approval workflow, this thesis will combine fix examination and approval procedures which adopt dynamic flow and Dynamic procedures which adopt fix flow, and provide Unified interface for each medal.It is convenient to expend the system and meet the adaptability of the system. This paper also reflects the core idea of knowledge management to manage the enterprise data information effectively, as well as deliver and share the information effectively in the design of the function module.
