Embedded System have been widely used in many fields,such as defense,industry traffic energy communication and ordinary life etc. Embedded system is the key factor in minimizing and intelligentizing devices.While the key of embedded system software is embedded operation system;one of the main works in OS application is to write the HAL(Hardware Abstraction Layer) code. Two open source code embedded operation system -uc/OS and embedded Linux were analyzed in this paper. The hardware platform in this paper is BroadCom board and the CPU is Motorola communication RISC chip MPC850.uC/OS is a fully preemptive real-time kernel based on static priority. This paper first analyzed uC/OS kernel principle and performance in details and then ported it to BroadCom board by writing some hardware-associated code. Furthermore some possible improvement on uc/os were made.Secondly,this paper analyzed the key technology in embedded Linux and built our embedded Linux in BroadCom board. The method of how to wite BSP code under Linux is also presented here.At last,this paper tried some practice on embedded system application. A remote control system based on embedded Internet has been implemented and a reasonable scheme on Intelligent Residential was put forward.
