In this paper, we introduce a design of IDE(Integrated Developing Enviroment) for embedded linux, and give it's schematic implementation. The IDE is composed of three sub-tookits: ElK for embedded linux systems, SDK for embedded linux applications ,and DDK for embedded device drivers. Special analysis is provided in the paper on what should be paid attention to when designing SDK for embedded systems. Several technologies are involved . They are toolchain, workspace, target, embedded device object and managing framework for embedded device objects .One by one ,we illuminate what problems they can solve , what benefits they can produce and how they are designed. These technologies are developed or gained by being extended from others during making our own SDK for embedded linux.
