Design And Realization Multi-medium Mobile Terminal Platform Based On Embedded System

In the fast-changing world of science and technology, appeared information appliances, handheld and wireless devices. There are many hardware and software design changes taking place. Many devices now feature 32-bit microprocessors from Intel, MIPS and Motorola. The cheap and powerful microprocessors and various kinds of peripheral equipments have made the hardware frames of all kinds of embedded applications stable and reliable. Sincel990s, ColdFire which is 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor, has been spread to the range of the world, and occupied in the field of application of low consumption, low cost and high performance embedded system.Embedded Linux is an embedded operation system adapt to high layer application, because its excellent kernel design and application performance, Linux is running on many kinds of hardware. Linux also owns other merits such as its free code, its inherit networking functions and its modularization design in kernel. Therefore Linux is very suitable to be the operate system of embedded system. uClinux is a branch of embedded Linux. And it is designed for NO-MMU CPU.In this thesis, the embedded Linux system based on ColdFire has been developed. The embedded hardware system was designed taking Motorola MCF5249 CPU as the core. And a small uClinux system is embedded into this hardware system. Various kinds of application in uClinux system can be developed. The purpose of this paper is to design a multi-medium mobile terminal platform adapt to middle/low layer applications, in order to attains the purpose that remove, sounds and video and so on be able to be the effect all over the body. Now we have already achieved the MP3 music playback on this platform, also adopt Micro Drive (MD) technique, the practice proves that the platform attain the design requirement completely, has the characters of low cost and high efficiency. So there is the very good marketplace foreground.At last, this paper proposes a video solution based on this platform. It can make this platform become the portable multi-medium platform in deed.
