The Aal2 Research And Implementation Of Third Generation Mobile Communication Base Stations

The devolopement in mobile conmunication system and wide band multimedia network makes possible for mobile user to access to golbe multimedia system in the 3G mobile conmunication system. UMTS and IMT-2000 are aimed to provide high qulity access to mutilmedia service. The standaration of the new system is being processed by ITU .In the 3G system, ATM tech is used for accessing network, W-CDMA is used for air interface. One basic concept of umts/imt-2000 is the seperation of access function from core network. Access network provide UE access platform lech which is indepent from core network.In consideration of the quickly development of mobile phone , and the increase of internet access, the main task of new system will include voice and internet access. Of course, these services are also supported by 2G. In 3G system, these services will be supported more complex and larger. At the same time new system will provide service qulity at lease equal to PSTN. Because of the introduction of ATM, the fuction of QOS is more complex.How to build the switch platform was discussed in the paper, also a new ATM adaptive layer is introduced in the paper.
