MPEG Compressing technology is the key technology in the Multimedia Computer, Multimedia Database, Multimedia Communication, HDTV, and Interactive TV systems. In this paper, based on the studying and analyzing of MPEGs (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-7), which are the current compression standards of the moving pictures, the applications of the MPEG standards are implemented, which are taking full advantage of current digital facilities and multimedia resources.The works are listed as followings:1. The stock market information receiving and online exchanging system based on MPEG-2 standard. With the development of economy, the receiving of stock market information and online exchanging have become one of the hottest issues. In this paper, the receiving system based on CATV is designed. It takes full advantage of the CATV resources to receive the real-time stock information by computer. The solution for online exchanging is also put forward.2. The implementation of MPEG-4 decoding based on JMF framework. With the development of multimedia technologies, there are higher and higher requirements for multimedia compression. A new standard, MPEG-4, is then currently developed. MPEG-4, whose encoding arithmetic is based on the media objects, is a revolutionary change of multimedia data compression and satisfies the people's need to the multimedia data. The MPEG-4 standard and decodingarithmetic are introduced in this paper. The new MPEG-4 software decoding based on the Java Media Framework is put forward and implemented to enhance the cross-platform and transplant performance of MPEG-4.3. In this paper, the applications and the valuable significance of MPEG-7 are also elaborated. The real case applications are also discussed.
