Base on introducing the digital television system and the knowledge of MPEG 2,simply describe the system's hardware platform and software platform, then particularly describe the theory of compose and broadcast of transport stream which has variable bit rate, a key technology in digital television system. Provide a new method and the conclusion of the experiment.In our researching has some more core technology, just as transport stream real time multiplex and seamless splicing of audio and video data. The system based on embeded OS and DSP, flexible and robust.The digital television crown all telvesion system, involve program production, translation, receiving by subscriber and the running and management of all system is based on digital technology. Currently, the reconstruct of digital televison is on phase III, viz. the digital changing of translation and receiving. In our project, we research the realization of digital broadcast server, which is the key equipment of the digital television system.MPEG 2, generic coding of moving pictures and associated audio information, has widely applicated in broadcast network. The project in this dissertation is based on the researching of the MPEG 2. We introduced the related content in the MPEG2 standerd, and our comprehending. In MPEG2, the system level, transport stream, video level is the base of our core technique.The system is a PC + PCI Card mode, the core process is on the Trimedia chip on the PCI card. The chip realize the PCI bridge, the compose and multiplex of the transport stream, output of the transport stream, etc. TM1100 is a media processor for high-performance multimedia applications that deal with high-quality video and audio. Its orientation around a powerful general-purpose CPU.(called the DSPCPU) makes it capable of implementing a variety of multimedia algorithms, whether open or proprietary. TM1100 is also easily configured in multiple processor, configurations for very high-end applications.the pSOS operating system is a modular, high performance, real-time operating system(RTOS) designed specifically for embedded microprocessors. It provides a complete multitasking environment based on open system standards. pSOS employs a modular architecture, built around a real-time multitasking kernel and a collection of a companion software components.The realizatioin of the broadcast of transport stream which has variable bit rate, need four technique, which are protocol processing, time processing, seamless splicing of video/audio data and getting the real rate of the input stream. This dissertation particularly introducing the theory and the realization of the method.With the Bluetop's transport stream analyser and the decoder from Chengdu Xingao, we verify the plan is right and the project is success.
