Digital Library Information Resources Construction

Digital library, a brand-new concept and practice, characterized by the digitized process, storage, management and transmission, achieves the information services beyond the physical space by means of multi-media access, Telnet transmission, intelligent retrieval and seamless links across different databases. Though it is not first proposed by librarians, and doesn't belong to any fields of library. Its rich intension and bright future of development makes it undoubtedly a new starting point and developing goal for the library, the supplier and owner of Information, an inexorable trend for the future and focus of construction of the libraries. Meanwhile, the library's information and technology superiority make it an important new force in the field of digital library. As for a single library, the construction of information resources is the best starting point.hi the light of her own work, the author raises experience to the level of theory by generalizing and approaches the construction of information resources of digital library from the angle of library, and finally give an example by uniting related theory with the practice. The paper has five parts, hi the first part, the author analyzes the digital library in general. In the following part, the information resources of digital library are discussed, and the author approaches the construction of information resources of digital library on base of some theories in the third part, hi the fourth part, the author makes a thorough study on the acquisition and creation of information resources of digital library. An example is given in the last part, in which the author makes an overall plan for the construction of information resources of Changchun Digital Library.
