As the social information organization, how library do to provide perfect, quick service to all users?At present, more and more data providers have the chance to serve for users directly, because plenty of electronic publications appear. Of course this trend is a threat to all libraries.Digital library send all kinds of digital resources all over the world to users of different districts online. It is a product of information service in network. It changes the mode of management and work of library. People can get all useful resources at home no matter where the resources are. Obviously digital library make an advantageous condition for improving artistic appreciation of the whole people.But the poverty gap become more and more clear between the developing country deficient in digital resources and developed country. The imbalance distribution of digital resources affects economic development of country. So construction of information resources not only becomes the key work of digital library, but also the important task of economic development. The level of construction of digital information resources decides the place of library in our country in information area.The research of digital library in our country is a bit late compared with other developed countries. So it is essential and critical to study resource construction of digital library in 21 century.This thesis investigates many books, periodicals, databases and websites about construction of digital library information resources. The thesis includes four parts. The first part introduces background, main content and methods, related documents, purpose and value, innovation of resource construction. The second part is the summary of digital library, covers origin, definition, characters, function and the present situation of digital library. The entire introduction is the basis of the later two parts. The third part is the important part of the whole study. It is the summary of information resources construction of digital library. From the conception, types, characters, to the present situation and theory of information resources, conclude the experiences worth learning. Then analyzes flow and strategy of resource construction, provide several feasibleadvice, include some idea of personal practice in work. The last part is the innovation of the thesis. It combines theory with practice, give the example of Shaanxi Normal University library, and provide the resources construction plan of digital library in network area.It has been proved that the resources construction plan of Shaanxi Normal Universiry digital library is feasible. We have finish the test of our disk data and thesis data, other item will be carried out continually.I hope my study can drive the research of all university digital libraries. I wish I can do my best in construction of our digital library, and my study will be a reference for all resources constructer of university digital library.
