As the development of economy and the change of the times,"image" is playing a more and more important role in the development of individual, even to the society. Region image is an important part of the image research, and the construction of it has a great influence on the region’s social production and development, and as the sonstant development of the information technology and the diversity of people’s communication channel, a region’s media image plays a key role in the region image’s construction.Recent years, ethnic minority regions, as important parts of our nation, the development of them have direct connection with our social stability and national unity, but the economical development of ethical minority regions are much slower than unethical minority regions, besides the reason of geography, these years the unstable social reasons in ethnic minority regions have great influence on the economical development.Take Xin Jiang for example, the high frequency of unexpected events happened in this region made people’s impression of Xin Jiang being much destroyed. On this background, to develop a good media image is very important to Xing Jiang’s further development. This thesis take Kun Ming station violence terrifying criminal case as the point of penetration, tried to find out the reasons that influences Xin Jiang’s media image, and also hope to offer some useful advises through the analysis of media’s report of the unexpected events that happened in ethnic minority regions.
