With the development of modern science and technology, radar’s functional system becomes complicated and difficult, while the difficulty to debug is also increasing. Testing complex radar system in a real environment will bring a huge waste of human and material resources. Therefore, the application of radar simulator which simulates test environment in real-time in order to test radar system becomes an effective radar system debugging method.This article focuses on the acquisition of IF radar leaking signal, simulating radar echo by adding the noise and other target parameters. Firstly, we should be clear of the task and establish radar echo model, using MATLAB simulate radar transponder signal processing flow, in the meanwhile give a detailed description of the weighting of amplitude. Secondly, this paper discusses the establish of hardware platform, mainly talks about the key point of hardware design, including power, clocking, analog ground and digital ground. We design software modules including the Gigabit Ethernet, PowerPC, FPGA and MFC based on hardware platform. Finally, it discusses the correctness of each module.It is necessary to storage the real-time data into the computer so as to validate whether the echo is correct.The debugging results show that the hardware design and software function blocks all meet the expected performance and desired goal.
