With the development of communication technology, the appearance of new format signals and the deterioration of electromagnetic surroundings, the technical indexs of the microwave downconverter is much more than before.The paper comes from a project of microwave communication receiving system. The receiving signals have the features of wideband, high modulate rate, and patency faded undulate, so we need to resolve the problem of wideband, low noise and high dynamic range. etc. The auther have designed the 7.1-8.5GHz microwave down-converter. The whole project and some key technologies are innovative. The equipemnt have been used in the microwave communication system.At first, this paper analyzes the main technical indexs of the 7.1-8.5GHz microwave down-converter. Secondly, the key technologies and some questions paid more attention are introduced. Then, the results of the test and simulation are represented. Finally, summarize this paper and expect improvement in the future.
