Olap Technology In The Hospital Medical Supplies Management Study

Along with the development of the information society, hospitals in all fields and at all levels have set up their own HIS system (hospital information system). Function continuously improves, hospital database scale unceasingly expands, and the amount of data volume has been growing. How to use the immense amounts of data, how to extract useful information resources or related knowledge to help hospital to improve service quality, provide a basis for the decision-making of hospital administrators and keep advanced in the fierce competition, become the concern of hospital top managers.In recent years, data warehouse, OLAP and multi-dimensional analysis have become a technical hot of computer science. These technologies are applied in many industries, and then obvious effect has been gained. However, at present these technologies are less frequently used in the hospital information system. So how to use data warehouse and OLAP technology research in hospital information system is necessary but also very meaningful. The combination of hospital information system and data warehouse and OLAP technology must make the hospital information system applications effectively, which also provides wider prospect of the application of data warehouse and OLAP technology applied.This paper integrates SQL Server integration Services of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and OLAP of SQL Server Analysis Services and multi-dimensional analysis technologies. The subject is established according to the hospital Medical Supplies management requirement. The paper forms a data warehouse facing the subject, realizing data extraction, conversion and the loading by comprehensive application related tools of ETL, which serves as the basis for hospital administrators observation application of Medical Supplies data in multiple perspectives and deep analysis some particular concern.This paper realizes comprehensive application for data warehouse and, OLAP and multi-dimensional analysis technology by research on the related core technology. The main research work includes the following aspects:Firstly, the theory of data warehouse is applied, Medical Supplies annual data in November of 2008 and 2009 as data source, to establish three data warehouses, including consumables in and out and orders consumables. The three will be as data base for follow-up work.Then, focus on the research of ETL, which is the core technology of the data warehouse construction. And explore each main link in the application and development of ETL. Finally. OLAP technology (on-line analysis process) is applied, to realize multidimensional analysis of data warehouse, such as the relationship of usage of medical consumables and patient identity, temporal trend of Medical Supplies use. using analysis of Medical Supplies.
