Research On Data Warehouse And Data Mining Of American Health Care System

With extensive application of database technology, a large number of data has been stored in various industries. In face of these vast and dispersive data, how to manage it effectively and make good use of it becomes an urgent problem of database development. At this historic moment, data warehouse and data mining come into being and provide practicable solution to this problem.Based on ACH information system of Ox International, Inc., a solution to data warehouse and data mining system was presented. Firstly, according to the insurance business we established multi-dimension data model; Secondly, extract historic data from source database and store it in data warehouse; Finally, using OLAP and data mining technologies do various complex analyses on those data in order to get useful information which could support decision-making.In this thesis, the key technologies of data warehouse and data mining have been explored, which include:(1) Analyze the procedure of data warehouse design, which includes data modeling, data warehouse building and administrating; discuss multi-dimensional modeling in detail;(2) Introduce the theory of data mining, research the procedure and modeling of it, analyze two important algorithms: decision-tree and cluster;(3) Expatiate analysis environment of SQL Server, lay a strong emphasis on researching DTS and Analysis Services;(4) Using the technologies mentioned above, design and build data warehouse based on ACH information system; besides, use OLAP and data mining technologies in it and evaluates its effect.The production has been used in ACH information system. Now, it is running on the safe side and supporting the decision-making well.
