Study Of Foreign Reporting The Status Quo Of The Major Emergencies

The overseas reporting for domestic breaking news, especially coverage of the serious social emergencies, has long been a weakness for the Chinese media. However, in an era of globalization and informatization, it is crucial to improve the reporting, which is of great significance to have China's say in the world arena and build a positive national image. Based on the study of the reporting selected fromChina Daily on Lhasa riot and Urumqi riot, this thesis analyzes the status quos of the overseas reporting for breaking news, the achievement already made and the problems to be solved yet, thus providing some guidelines for the breaking news reporting.
