A Study On The Narrative Model Of Breaking News Reporting In The Context Of Media Convergence

With the iterative development of Internet technology,the journalism practice in the global news industry changes rapidly.Previous studies on breaking news reports were mostly based on reports of a single media form.As breaking news reports are an important business component in the field of news practice,breaking news events have a wide and significant impact on the society.Therefore,it is of great significance for the industry to explore its new narrative model in the era of media convergence.With breaking news narrative model research,this study media fusion as a theoretical model,by Pulitzer journalism awards sudden,after the enforcement of the new standard in 2012 and 2020 all Pulitzer journalism award winning entries series of breaking news reporting as a sampling frame,with content analysis of 1549 samples from the whole sample analysis,This paper intends to make a more in-depth and systematic exploration of the breaking news narrative model under the background of media convergence.Firstly,based on the news diamond model,this study studies the functions and implementation methods of each step of breaking news reporting.These steps cooperate with each other to realize a pluralistic and vivid news reporting process.Secondly,starting from three perspectives of media convergence theory:cross-platform communication,multi-media expression and user participation in narrative,this study analyzes and discusses the detailed features of breaking news narrative model in the dimension of media convergence theory,and seeks for the deep correlation between various dimensions of media convergence and breaking news narrative steps.Finally,based on the analysis of Pulitzer Prize-winning news,this paper evolves and revises the news diamond model,adds two steps to the original seven steps,proposes the evolution of breaking news narrative model from the news diamond model to double-triangle model,explore the internal tension between speed,user control and depth,and provides an optimal path for the original news reporting model.It is expected to provide a rational and forward-looking reference for the reporting practice of breaking news.
