Chinese Institutions Of Independent Colleges Employment-oriented Professional Set

The number of college graduates increased rapidly year by year in our country. There are 5.59 million college graduates in 2008,compared with 2007 increased by 0.64 million, an increase of 13%.From 2008 to 2009,the number of graduates increased by 0.51 million, an increase of 9.1%.The trend of employment becomes more severely than past years, and many areas have the phenomenon of "difficult for finding jobs". Under the background of current employment situation, a large number of independent college graduates began to move toward the talent markets. So the independent institution of traditional Chinese medical colleges faced with great pressure.Choosing the graduates from Xiangxing College of Hunan TCM University as research objects, a survey is conducted which contains the correlation between studied major and current job, the applicability of the learned professional knowledge in the job, needed professional knowledge in the job, skill training section and the biggest obstacle of constriction of the graduates'employment from our college.The analysis shows that unsolid professional knowledge and failure to make reasonable knowledge structures affects the graduates'employment directly, as well as the close correlation of major designs and employment.But the current situation of the major designs in the independent colleges of the TCM universities is that the independent colleges duplicate the dominant subjects of the TCM universities, which makes the majors resemble to those in other independent colleges as well as the universities.The strategy of the employment-oriented major designs is to set up an information platform of supply and demand of human resource, predict according to the market of human resource, and modify the major designs in the independent colleges of the TCM universities accordingly; adjust the subjects according to the market of human resource; introduce general education and consolidate the major construction; develop new employment-oriented majors based on specialty direction.The research provides with the scientific basis on the reform, sustainable and healthy development of major designs in the independent colleges of the TCM universities.
