This dissertation is composed of two parts:the summary of documents and a clinic research.Part one:the summary of documentsHypertension and abdominal obesity spread rapidly in civil, leading to metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipaemia, metabolic syndrome. They sharpen the damage of heart, brain, kidney and blood vessel, so they do serious harm to health. The first part mainly discusses the relationship between Hypertension and abdominal obesity. It describes the definition, standard diagnosis and epidemiology firstly. Then talk about their hazards, harms to health, pathogenesis and treatment in western medicine. It summarizes the similarity of hypertension and abdominal obesity, such as insulin resistance and inflammatory react ion, influencing each other. The second part describes reasons, syndrome and treatment in TCM. The relationship of hypertension, and abdominal obesity is still a question, which needs further study. Although the record of hypertension and abdominal obesity in TCM is little, the treatment in TCM has superiority. There are various therapies of TCM in losing weight and reducing blood press. The integrate of Chinese medicine and acupuncture and moxibust ion is effective. So we have to search more combined therapies of Chinese and Western medicine while studying the correlation of hypertension" and abdominal obesity.Part two:clinical studyObjection:To compare the correlation of BMI,WC,WHtR and hyperternsion grade, dangerous levels, complications and syndrome type as fat measurements. To explore incidence of obesity and abdominal fat in hypertension and the distribution of TCM syndrome type of hypertension and abdominal fat.Method:Select eligible 128 cases of hypertension; carry out statistical analysis to result of age, sex, blood stage, dangerous level,BMI,WC,WHtR and syndrome with SPSS17.0,Excel statistical analysis software. Results:①There are respective 54.69%,15.63%,84.38%,81.25%hypertension patients who is overweight and obesity, obesity, abdominal obesity and WHtR≥0.5.②Test statistic of correlation of WC,WHtR and blood stage probability is having great siynif icant (P< 0.01), excepting for BMI.③Test statistic of correlation of BMI,WC,WHtR and dangerous levels,TCM syndrome types probability is having remarkable siynificant (P<0.01).There are linear positive correlation between blood stage or dangerous levels and WC,WHtR. Excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type is different from other four types(P<0.01).④Test statistic of correlation of WHtR and complications probability is having remarkable siynificant (P< 0.01). The group of non-complications is different from groups of complications (P<0.05).⑤The spread of TCM syndrome type of hypertension and abdominal fat is blood stasis type> excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type> yin yang deficiency type> yin deficiency yang excess type>hyperactivity of liver fire type.⑥WHtR of hypertension and abdominal fat patients most is equal to or greater than 0.5. Conclusion:WHtR is better than WC and BMI as abdominal fat measure, whose critical value is equal to or greater than 0.5.It can forecast hazards of cardiovascular diseases. The increase of WC and WHtR can predict higher risk of development of hypertension. There are more blood stasis type and excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type in hypertension and abdominal obesity.
