With the development and globalization of information technology (IT), China's IT industry is growing rapidly. The data centers in China strive to find solutions to keep updated with the development of advanced administration of top data centers and to improve the popularization of the administration core concept of the mainstream data center.ISO9001 is an international quality management standard that most enterprises in China must be certified, but it is not suitable for IT industry. In December 2005, the first international standard for IT service administration, ISO/IEC 20000, was announced by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). How to popularize the ISO/IEC 20000 in data center industry and how to let the IT service industry, on which all trades and professions rely, obey this international standard become important topics for the managers in the data centers.The first chapter provides background and the actualities of data center service administration. The second chapter introduces IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The third chapter introduces ISO/IEC 20000 quality standard system, and the fourth chapter elucidates the differences between ISO/IEC 20000 and ITIL. The fifth chapter demonstrates the difficulties on execution of ISO/IEC20000 quality standard system based on the author's experiences. Integrated with available experiences, the sixth chapter explicates the solutions for domestic IT enterprises to execute ISO/IEC 20000 quality management system and to improve IT service administration.
