At present, there are a great number of HFC networks in Cable TV network in China. Most of Cable TV networks in our small and medium-sized cities haven't experienced two-way cable television network reconstruction. Such networks can neither conducting multimedia interactive services nor achieves the management of network, business and users effectively, it only satisfies the basic requirements of the transmission of radio and television programs. Especially as IPTV, Live television, mobile TV, Internet TV and some other popular media have sprung up, cable TV meets challenges for survival. As a result, it's an urgent and imperative task to establish broadband two-way, stable and reliable comprehensive information network.This thesis takes the two-way cable television network reconstruction of Mao Ming City as a typical example. It illustrates the problems existing in HFC network briefly and introduces the criterion and principles for its reconstruction. Three technical schemes applying in our current domestic two-way cable television network reconstruction and the reasons for the selection of EPON for this reconstruction are analyzed in this thesis. It provides details on the reconstruction designs including the generation and cabling requirements of the three major Network topologies of front-end system, the trunk network and user terminals, as well as advantages and disadvantages of various user access modes. Therefore, we make full use of existing computer rooms and cable resources in our radio and television system and minimize the cost to transform the one-way network to two-way interactive cable television network. Finally, it takes a community as an example to demonstrate the concrete implementation of the program, such as topology structure, technical index etc.This scheme is economical and applicable for network reform with high quality and efficiency. It can bring about social and economical returns. It can save a lot of construction funds, accelerate two-way upgraded pace of the cable TV network reconstruction, and then promote the development of overall conversion system in digital TV.This research ultimately provides a practical mode for two-way cable TV network transformation in small and medium-sized cities. It's feasible to solve the existing problems in HFC two-way network reconstruction in our current cable TV system.
