Research And Development On Parking Lot Management System Based On Video Technology

Parking lot management system is the major part of the intelligent transportation system and intelligent community. For satisfying the parking need that increases day by day, the super parking lots continuously flow out now. With the size of parking lot increases, the frequency and amount of vehicles coming into and leaving the parking lot increase dramatically, traditional parking lot management system can't satisfy the requirement. Therefore, how to make use of the latest information technique and intelligent transportation technique to improve the intelligence of parking lot management, guarantee the security of the vehicles in the parking lot, make the parking lot more efficient, has become the important task of intelligence parking lot management.In this Dissertation, Firstly, an intelligence parking lot management system based on video technique is designed and its functions and architecture are analyzed. Secondly, the entrance and exist control systems of the parking lot are researched, the processes of coming into and going out the parking lot for the temporary and contemporary customers are analyzed respectively, the automatic parking-guide system is studied to detect the status of parking location. Thirdly, image processing technique is applied to detect license plate, segment character, identify the characters on the license plate, recognize the vehicle color and its type. According the circumstance of parking lot, the license, color and type of a vehicle are combined to authenticate its legitimacy, which will improve the security of parking lot. Finally, the parking lot charging system is researched and designed.
