At present, self-service equipments have been used more and more widely by current user-oriented financial service systems, and their number is increasing year by year. With the continuously increasing scale of the self-service equipments put into running, the banks, i.e. the operation and management organizations of the equipments, are facing a big challenge of how to scientifically control these self-service equipments. In order to guarantee their stable and efficient operation, there must be a scientific and highly effective management tool that can manage all hardware and involved software very well. Therefore, it will greatly enhance the management efficiency of self-service equipments to design a set of software integrated with all kernel functions including device attribute information management, condition monitoring, event tracking, information query, back office processing and remote control. The presented dissertation is focusing on the design and development of the self-service equipment monitoring system for certain bank. It first analyzes the problems of the bank in managing self-service equipments as well as the feasibility and necessity of constructing a self-service equipment monitoring system. In designing the self-service equipment monitoring system, using the theory and method of software engineering, the dissertation starts from the analyses of systematic requirements and proposes major problems to be solved and the construction goal of the system. By means of abstracting and extracting the business flow and the data in the business management, it further determines the system structure and the software architecture of the self-service equipment monitoring system, and then differentiates and designs all function modules of the system. According to the basic principle of the database design, both logical and physical structural designs of the system database are completed, and at the same time the solutions are also proposed for the key functions of the system, such as device status acquisition, event tracking and remote control.Following the standard of CEN (short for European Standardization Committee) and XFS (short for extensions for Financial Services) and adopting multi-channel status acquisition scheme, the self-service equipment monitoring system realizes centralized management of self-service equipments from different brands. And on this basis, some problems, such as the monotonicity of status acquisition modes and the accuracy of status information, have been solved. And then, according to the life cycle of fault solving, the events, from equipment operating service companies and bank outlets operators, have been realized integrated management, and some defects in the former systems, such as scarce records of fault handling process and failure to automatic tracking of event handling, have also been remedied. In addition, under the system requirements, the remote control function is introduced in the monitoring system. As a result, some work that need employ tremendous amounts of time and manpower in the former systems (the bottom communication program upgrade, the change of the advertisement, the control over device operation, for example) can go well. The system has achieved real-time supervision on the key operational components and on the whole self-service equipments. Moreover, the maintenance and management of the self-service equipments can be easily effected by the simple commands from the administrative personnel. Not only is the operation and management efficiency of the self-service equipments greatly promoted, but also the system keeps a 24-hour good condition.
