With the continuous development of communication and information needs, data and video serverics have rapidly growth; the traditional voice service is grown slower and slower. The bandwidth requirement of services and network is larger and larger.The optical fiber as transmission medium has the large capacity of transmission, high reliability, long transmission distance, anti-electromagnetic interference, etc. Extension fiber to the user, has become a mainstream stratagem of global telecom operators, and has begun to rapidly push forward.In accordance with the development strategy of China Telecom's technology and network evolution roadmap, Hangzhou Telecom promotes the biggest efforts to push forward "more fiber, less copper". EPON network is quickly into large-scale construction period.During of the early stage of EPON network construction, operation and maintenance are a repetition of the original copper access mode:services delivery manually, line distribution manually. This manual process results network operation and maintenance personnel are overwhelmed, prone to error. The network documents are always not complete because of the large labour cost. The manual service provisioning needs about 2 hours for services debugging on site, the entire process from the user services application to open takes 7 to 15 days. It's inefficient, prone to error. There is an urgent requirement to find automatical services provisioning methods and processes to improve the efficiency of the service dilivery, reducing manual operation of the network equipment, to avoid human error.With full investigation and analysis of the Hangzhou Telecom existing EPON services provisioning process, combined with Hangzhou Telecom's EPON 2 years experience, I have designed the automacal services provisioning process, to achieve Plug & Play, ready to use, zero touch of EPON service provisioning. After the deployment of this automatical proess of service provisioning, the services delivery time is recuded to less than 20 mininutes for one subscriber. The OPEX are greatly reduced, and greatly speeding up the EPON network construction.
