As the rapid development of CAN bus, the research of plug and play in CAN bus distributed network not only has high academic value, but also have a wide range of practical significance. With the continuous development of PnP, it has extended to the entire network. It makes equipment in the network found and controlled, and achieves plug-and-play of network nodes. The main content of this thesis is the implementation of CAN network nodes automatical identification. It is based on the LMT service in the high-level communication protocol CAL of CAN protocol. This thesis gives an overview of network control system, CAN bus, PnP, smart sensors and IEEE 1451 standard after introducing the source, purpose and significance of the project. And then it analyzes the CAN bus communication protocol, including CANBus 2.0B protocol which gives the definition of Data link layer and physical layer, CAN high-level communication protocol CAL, CANopen protocol which gives the definition of application layer. On the basis of the overview and analysis, this thesis puts forward automatical management scheme of CAN network nodes based on improved LMT. The requirement analysis and basic ideas of the scheme are introduced. The scheme divides plug-and-play part into two stages: identification stage and distribution of NOD-ID stage. According to this idea, corresponding algorithm has been implemented, and corresponding real-time ability has been analyzed. Finally, the prototype development of CAN nodes plug-and-play based on MCU has been introduced. The hardware development includes serial port module, CAN interface module for communication between nodes. And the software development includes program flow of nodes design, prototype of CAN nodes. This thesis proves the feasibility of automatical identification scheme through the experiment. Finally, the conclusion of this thesis is given, and several core issues of future work are discussed.
