This thesis is to explore the relationship between secondary school librarians'mental health status and their career commitment. For this purpose, the author designed a "Secondary School Librarian Career Commitment Questionnaire" and a "School Librarian Mental Health Questionnaire" on the basis of "Primary and Secondary School Teachers Career Commitment Questionnaire" and "The spirit of SCL-90". The two questionnaires are designed to measure the levels of secondary school librarians'mental health status and their career commitment. The results indicate the following:(1) The coefficient of scale consistency of "School librarian professional commitment questionnaire" is 0.905. According to the analysis of the content validity, the relevance of the three sub-scales and the total table is 0.890,0.778, and 0.922 (P<0.01) respectively. The internal consistency reliability of "The spirit of SCL-90" is 0.970, which indicates that the two questionnaires are reliable and valid and can be used as an effective measurement tool for this study. (2) The overall level of the secondary school librarians'career commitment is higher. (3) The overall level of the secondary school librarians'mental health is higher. (4) In different demographic variables, the secondary school librarians'mental health and career commitments have a significant statistical difference. The level of career commitment of librarian staff with a service length between 0 and 5 years tends to be lower, the level of career commitment of the librarian staff with more than 6 years'service increases gradually and becomes stable, and for middle-aged librarians, levels of normative commitment, affective commitment and overall commitment are higher than other age groups. Middle-aged women, in particular, claim a higher level than men of the same age. Specialized libraries in secondary schools have no advantage. As to the mental health, the younger the staff member is, the higher the degree of paranoia. (5) The regression analysis shows that anxiety is an effective continued commitment predictor, the more anxiety librarians have, and better continued commitment; the depression on the emotional commitment has no significant impact, while the obsessive-compulsive situation will affect the emotional commitment, which decreases with the increase score of the obsessive-compulsive symptoms. This thesis also discusses the overall situation of the current secondary school librarians'career commitment and mental health and analyzes a variety of possible reasons for the impact of these conditions, which may provide a constructive clue for the effective management of secondary school libraries.
