Many students who are poor at mathematics are admitted to high vocationalcollege while high vocational education is developing quickly and thus thishas brought about many difficulties. It is a hard task for mathematics teachersin high vocational college to conduct their classes. How to provoke thestudents' initiative and interests in mathematics learning? According toteaching research, students are apt to aesthetic things and mathematics isclosely related to all aethitic things. The beauty of mathematics lies notonly in making people enjoy its beauty but also in training people'sreasonable thinking and it plays an important role in enlightening mentalityand openning up originality . In this dissertation, the theory and practiceof actualizing aesthetic education in mathematics teaching is studied in orderto provoke students' interests and cultivate their aesthetic perception inmathematics learning. It will promote student's all-around development .By studying the questionaires,this dissertation analyzed the mathematicslearning problems of the students in high vocational college firstly. Throughinvestigation I found that students are lack of sensibility in mathematicslearning. The separation between teaching contents and practice does not meetthe requirements of the major. The dull teaching approach prevents studentsfrom experiencing the value in learning mathematics.In order to solve theproblems, it is necessary to apply aesthetic education to mathematics teachingin high vocational college.Students learn mostly in classes. The application of the aestheticeducation in mathematics teaching is expounded in this dissertation and theimplied beauty in vocational college mathematics textbooks is revealed. Themathematics quality,character and function of the beauty of mathematics arealso under discussion. The mathematics beauty is objective and is apresentation of human nature through pleasant mathematic sturcture.Thedistinguished features of the beauty of mathematics are its simplicity,symmetry, oneness and oddity. If teachers could fully open up the beauty ofmathematics in textbooks and reveal its law,then they would inspire thestudents to learn and cultivate students'mathematic quality. Aestheticeducation in mathematics is a key to quality education, aesthetic perceptionand originality.Based on the analysis of mathematic beauty in vocationalcollege maths textbooks, this dissertation also studied the functions of theaesthetic education in mathematics teaching in this aspect.The content of the beauty of mathematics is different in different areas.In this dissertation, I expounded and summarized the beauty of mathematicsin clothing major of high vocational college in order to make the mathematicsserve the major well. I also explored the combination between mathematics andthe major in teaching mathematics.In the practical aspects, through expermenting the theory of mathematicbeauty and its rationality, it can be scientifically concluded from teachingpractice by means of applying those views mentioned above that aestheticeducation in mathematics teaching is good to improve the students' interestsin mathematics learning. It can also train the students' sensibility of beautyand ability to create beauty. So the aesthetic education in mathematicsteaching is very important in molding students' healthy personality and theirall-around development.
