The past over thirty years is an energetic period for commerce. Development of technology, economic globalization and trend of merging have brought upmost intensive competition among enterprises. Many advanced enterprises have sensed this change and already conducted various reactions consequently.Under this kind of trend, the original scattered, small-sized mode of organization has shown more and more disadvantages. Diseconomy of scale, large quantity of repeated labor and waste of resources, recessive united cost and low efficiency, all of these mentioned above have raised an instant need for a totally brand-new managerial theory and organizational structure.Shared service is an advanced organizational structure and managerial mode created under the background of economic globalization. Shared service centralized the scattered non-core departments and repeated functions into one certain point by new technology, and brings such advantages theoretically.1) Simplification of organization and cost saving2) Large scaled economy 3) Strengthened supervision and improved managerial efficiency4) Release major resources into core business5) Improve agility, reduce expanding and reconstruction cost Shared service's debut was in last 80's and have been adopted by most big multi-national enterprises after 30 years'of development. In the past decade, multi-national enterprises have paid more attention to China market, and more and more division headquarters and shared services have been set up in China, among which financial shared services are the most common practice. Although there are many successful practices in China, not all the financial service centers can fulfill the set targets, and some of them are even operated at a very low efficiency.Hence, this thesis hopes to analyze and seek for the deep reasons of low efficiency through the review of shared service theory and observation of company A's shared service center in China, and consequently generate and summarize the approach to improving financial shared service center's effect. This thesis consists of 6 paragraphs.Paragraph one: introduction. This paragraph mainly introduces the background, target and meaning of research, and major contents and analyzing methods.Paragraph two: summary of financial shared service. This paragraph consists of two parts– shared service and financial shared service. Shared service– mainly introducing the background, theory base, major characters, scope of application, mode of operation and current situation of utilization of shared services. Financial shared service– mainly introducing the business contents, meaning of application, comparison with traditional finance and setup process of financial shared services. Paragraph three: summary of company A's financial shared services center in China. Main content includes operation environment, summary, current situation and future development trend of company A's financial share service center.Paragraph four and five: main content of this thesis. It analyzes the detailed operations and improvements of company A's financial shared service center through company culture, organizational management, customer management, process management and technical applications, and then discloses the vital elements of a successful operation of multi-national company's financial shared service center in China.Paragraph six: summary. This paragraph summarizes the whole thesis and lists the innovation thinkingResearch and application of shared service is new to China market, and there is little research on practical operation of introduction and design of shared service theory. Hence, the author hopes to provide constructive comments for the inefficient multi-national companies.
