In the current, the end-of-life period of product has been paid more and more attention. Europe Union has decreed WEEE and RoHs both aiming to define mandatory recycling products and forbidden materials. In China, similar regulations have been decreed or in processing. Therefore, evaluation of various electronic products' reverse-logistics has gained great concerns from both industry and academic field. A tool determining appreciate reverse-logistics and estimating relating cost is needed.In this dissertation, Case-based Reason method is applied to support decision-making, while combination of Case-based reasoning, Analytic Hierarchy Process and Industrial economic methods is used to build a cost and benefit estimating model for reverse-logistics. A digital mouse case was studied in order to test the validation of this method. The main research works are described as follow:1) determining six reverse-logistic strategies for Literature Review that has beenstudied;2) identifying key problems of case-based reasoning, including choosing elements of cases, determining weights of elements, calculating similarity and building case library;3) determining elements of cases according to study characters of electronic products and perusing related publications;4) constructuring the model of hierarchy for estimating reverse-logistics strategy based on AHP, with experts' knowledge and experience got by questionnaire, and therefore determining weights of elements;5) building case library by the way of investigating;6) studying end-of -life digital mouse, an example to prove the feasibility of above-mentioned model and method.In this study, an estimating model and method based on Case-based Reasoning is proposed in order to help determine and manage reverse-logistics strategy for end-of-life electronic products. Then, results of estimation would be fed back to designers and manufacturers so that more environmentally-friend products are designed.
