Archival Science's study subject is records phenomenon, which is attributed to the social sciences. Subject itself has social property and human attributes, so the use of social science research methodology on Archival Science will play a strategically advantageous position.Methodology as a universal ideology dominates the principles,modalities, methods and research logic which should be followed in Academic Research. Generally, the methodology is divided into scientism methodology and humanism methodology. Along with the study focus of philosophy from ontology to epistemology, the methodology was divided into two major thoughts, rationalism and non- rationalism. Under the guidance of these ideas has come out of their own means of study and specific research methods, so the current methodology of the study has been divided into general philosophical methods, the general methods and specific scientific methods. In this article, the author will discuss and evaluate the methodology, mainly in the level of ontology and epistemology. Therefore, this paper mainly give answers of the three questions:how archival science is produced, what is the kernel of archival science and archival science research is how to proceed. The first problem is epistemological category, the second problem concerns the body, and the third issue gives a further explanation on practical work. Thinking through these three questions to building a interpretation system of the research methods on archival science and to utilizing the research methods more conscious.
