As the belt conveyor is the most reliable and economical equipment, it has become one of main conveying appliance in coal-mining,metallurgy, electric power, architectural,petroleum, chemistry industry ect in our country. With the development of productivity, the belt conveyor develops toward to large power, long distance,large load and high velocity. So the research of the controllable start,balanceable power of electromotor, supervise and control have became very important.These questions on Intelligent Control System for a Belt Conveyor is researched in this paper.According to the running requirement of large power and long distance conveyor, the hydroviscous drive auto control system is researched, mainly including supervise and control,programmble logic controlor, local equipment and kinds of protection sensor. The control content and control process of programmble logic controlor are researched.The flow chart of controlble start on belt conveyor with programmble logic controlor and balanceable power of electromotor are drawed.After compared some ways of controble start on belt conveyor, the way of controble start with hydroviscous drive,electromotor and reducer is reserched.The principle and PID control pattern of hydroviscous drive are researched,including the control mode of systerm, control characteristic and mathmatical model and so on. Especially,the influence to the system of the parameters of PID is analyzed,and then the rule of the parameter auto-turning is proposed in paper based on the analysis of the dynamic reponse of the second function model.After analysed the some ways of parameter turning, A way of the PID parameter auto-turning based on fuzzy control in hydroviscous drive is put forward.The structure and the control principle of fuzzy control system are analyzed, including fuzzy interface,integrated data base,fuzzy reasoning technique,de-fuzzy technique and so on.Based on this and the case of the project, the system structure of the parameter auto-tuning fuzzy controller is built up.The selection and quantization of the value of input and output are also finished.The rule base of fuzzy control system is established based on expertise.The simulation of the fuzzy-PID control system by MatLab is given in this paper. The performance comparison of the rule PID and the fuzzy-PID is given to demonstrate the reasonableness of the fuzzy-PID system.According to the requirement of Centralized control of the control system on belt conveyor, the data communications of LabVIEW and AB-PLC are achieved, and the function of the data collection, operation display, alert, report forms is also accomplished.
