The blet conveyor underground coal mine is the most important equipments in coal production, and takes important responsibility of raw coal transportation. With the expansion of production scale and the progress of technology, the belt conveyor has been developed towards the direction of long distance, large load, high power, high speed, big-obliquity and multi-motor drive. However, open-loop control strategy was adopted in most belt conveyor control, and the start-up, operation and parking of conveyor were realized through fixed programs. So the control process can't be optimized, and the belt conveyor control didn't meet satisfactory performance and accuracy requirements.In this paper,aiming at raw coal transport systems of main shaft in one coal mine of Shaanxi Mining and Chemical Industry Group, and combined with the analysis of the present situation and development trend of driving and control technology of belt conveyer, the important questions about control of belt conveyer are discussed, which are the better start acceleration and velocity curves, power balance of multi-motor for belt conveyor system and protective device of belt conveyer. Based on the three problems, the double close-loop feedback control(speed loop and torque loop) system was designed, and PLC program flow of the soft-start, power balance, protective device and software redundancy was given, and optimal regulation of control procedure of belt conveyor was achieved. So the security and reliability of the belt conveyor system were greatly enhanced.In order to improve control accuracy of power balance, the decision-making was established based on fuzzy PID control theory. The simulation models of vector control system in the simulation circumstance of Matlab was bulit. The simulation model of control system was also established with the combination of fuzzy control algorithm and the control strategy of power balance based on velocity compensation. The result of simulation indicates that the control performance of the system is excellent, and the faster response time and better steady precision to various disturbances are acquired, and the control demand for power balance of belt conveyor is satisfied.The intelligent control system has been applied in the mine for more than one year, field operation demonstrated that the system satisfied the advanced demand and was suitable for popularization.
