Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a new automatic identification technology and has developed very rapidly. Its broad range of applications, such as automated highway toll collection and traffic management, access control security, RFID card charges, production automation, warehouse management, vehicle security and logistics. With the continuous development of RFID technology, RFID middleware has become a research hotspot of RFID technology.RFID middleware is the software which located between the RFID hardware and RFID application systems. Its main functions include: close the lower screen features the hardware system, application system for the upper layer to provide a unified API interface; management reader; handle read and write the feedback of the original label data. RFID middleware can reduce the hardware system and the upper coupling application system, and provide effective and reliable for the upper application of real-time signature information. Now, there are already many mature RFID middleware products, which are large middleware software only runningon PC or server. These RFID middleware products are very expensive. In response, this paper designed and implemented an embedded RFID middleware based on EPCglobal's middleware standard Application Level Event (ALE). This middleware can run on embedded Linux systems which provides efficient services and, greatly reduce the cost of middleware at the same time.It is especiallysuitable for small and medium-scale applicationsFirstly, this paper studies and analyse the ALE technical specifications ,and then propse embedded middleware design requirements according to the characteristics of embedded devices;Secondly, according to the specification designs software system architecture and program flow; Finally, tests the software.
