The high temperature tunnel kiln is equipment which is used for burning refractory materials. It always uses nature gas or heavy oil as fuel. and the control technique of the temperature has the direct effects on the quality of products. So, to design a good control system that can not only satisfy the process requirements but also low down the energy consumption, increase the percent of pass and reduce the pollution becomes reasonable.The thesis analyzed the technical requirements and the development of tunnel kiln control system all around the world. Then, according to the technology requirement of the process of tunnel kiln, designed a computer control system, which aggregates loop control, process control and management information system based on detailed analysis of the demand. Use SIMATIC S7-300 PLC to take the loop control task in the system and develop the supervisory system and MIS in WinCC.The tunnel kiln is a complicated object which characterized as nonlinear and time-varying. It is hard to establish an exact mathematic model for it. In most case, people use a first-order inertia long delay system to describe it approximately. The conventional PID control technique can't meet the modern process requirements in tunnel kiln system because the three PID parameters can't be set easily, the anti-interference and self-adjust ability of PID technique are week and it depends on the field operators'experience badly. On the basis of analyzing the advantage and shortage of the PID technique and Fuzzy control technique, designed a Fuzzy-PID controller for the temperature controlling in tunnel kiln system. The three PID parameters--KP, KI, KD are adjusted by the fuzzy controller. The simulation in MATLAB indicates that the fuzzy-PID temperature controller has better anti-interference and self-adjust ability than pure PID controller, its control effect can totally meet the modern burning requirements in tunnel kiln system.
