With the quick development of the automobile electron and modern traffic,Vehicle Terminal System has already been chased and progressed into the electronic field of the automobile,it is a high-tech production, which is combined with satellite locating technology, computer science technology, digital wireless communications technology and electronics technology.Based on navigation and orientation for vehicles,it applys wireless network as the platform to communicate with the control center,exchanges data at the same time,and it can record the state that can be analyzed to appraise the traffic accident,improve the capability of the law of the traffic administration,ensure the vehicle operation security. It is a key part of Intelligent Transportation System.According to the main functions of Vehicle Terminal System, this paper puts forward a design scheme related with vehicle terminal based on ARM andμC/OS-Ⅱ.This scheme adopts embedded system design ideology, using the embedded processor chip-S3C44B0X of Samsung ARM processor as hardware platform, includes the GPS module, GPRS module and other peripheral equipments, and completes the hardware circuit design ultimately. Meanwhile, the software adopts the embedded operating system, enhancing the stability and security of the system, and reinforcing the ability of code transplant. Besides the reception and register of GPS data are achieved in vehicles, the bidirectional data transmission between vehicle and monitoring center is also carried out with the GPRS wireless transmission network technology. Tracking and monitoring the vehicles remotely will improve the efficiency and security of the vehicle transmission rapidly.
